Meet Dr. Girish Deshpande, your Orthodontist!
Dr. Deshpande is a certified orthodontic specialist, practicing orthodontics since 1998. Dr. Deshpande is a Fellow of Royal College of Dentists of Canada. ( FRCD ). Over the last 23 years, Dr. Deshpande has successfully treated over 5000 orthodontic patients, which include a range from young to adult patients, using growth modification appliances, surgical orthodontic correction, dento-facial deformities correction with fixed appliance system such as colourful fixed braces to clear ceramic fixed braces, clear aligner treatment such as Invisalign, 3M Clarity aligners, Sure smile aligners and in-house aligners. He is an expert Invisalign and clear aligner treatment provider and has been one of the top Clear aligner treatment provider in Mississauga and neighbouring areas.

Family & Community:
Dr. Girish Deshpande is married to Dr. Neena D’Souza, a prosthodontist at Mississauga Dental Specialists. They have three children: Ryan, Eric, and Rachel. Outside of work, you can find Dr. Deshpande supporting his favorite hockey team: the Toronto Maple Leafs!
Passionate about giving back, Dr. Deshpande is a volunteer Canadian member of Smiles Change Lives and Smiles 4 Canada, two programs that offers free orthodontic treatment to low-income families. He is also a volunteer orthodontist for Restoring Smiles, a program intended to facilitate women who have been victims of domestic abuse.

Dr. Deshpande strives to take the time to get to know his patients on an individual basis and to provide clinic visits that are comfortable. He will help you understand the benefits of orthodontics before beginning the process, and will never try to suggest you a treatment that you are not comfortable with.
All of our long-term staff members are certified dental hygienists, orthodontic assistants, and administrative personnel. They are all trained and committed to providing a professional approach towards our patients and their orthodontic care. Our goal is to come together to create a well-organized clinic that treats patients well.
Our Philosophy
Dr. Girish Deshpande prefers to use early treatment approach when possible. His treatment goal is to improve or preserve natural facial aesthetics. Great amount of attention is given to nose, lip, and chin relationships and a balanced facial profile. He uses both extraction and non-extraction treatment mechanics and has combined different treatment techniques and philosophies into a simplified system for easier, faster, and safer orthodontic and dentofacial orthopedic treatment.
Apart from using conventional coloured mini braces, Dr. Deshpande uses self-ligating fixed appliances and aesthetically-pleasing clear ceramic braces (Clarity™ Advanced).
Our Office Policies
We understand that our patients have other important obligations. When you first begin orthodontic treatment, you will be seen once every few weeks. As our office schedule can be rather complex, your co-operation is vital and highly appreciated. If you are late, we may not be able to fit you into our schedule and you may have to schedule another appointment.
GD Orthodontics has set up an automated appointment scheduling system to help us serve you in the most efficient way possible. Your co-operation is appreciated, and we expect you to:
Be on time for your appointment
Have adequate time during your appointment to undergo the necessary procedures
Ask questions; we want to update you on your progress and keep you informed!
On our end, we will try to accommodate your work or school schedules as well as possible.
Rescheduling Appointments
Sometimes, unforeseen things will happen and you will need to reschedule an appointment.
If a patient overlooks an appointment, our team does its best to reschedule the appointment as soon as possible. Please do note that missed appointments and too many appointment changes will affect your treatment and the time it takes to complete it.
We kindly ask that you notify us if you wish to cancel and reschedule an appointment. This allows us to give your appointment time to another patient and reschedule you in a smooth manner.
Your Patient Records
Please let us know as soon as you can if your address, phone, number, or referring dentist changes. (Please note that referrals are not needed to schedule an orthodontic consultation).
